2010 April PAD Challenge: Day 13 Poetic Asides
Posted by Robert

Two for Tuesday time!

Here are today's two prompts:

1. Write a love poem.

2. Write an anti-love poem.

One person came to mind immediately:

Love

Day four, you lay in the bend of
My body – our body – and when
You looked out of your new skin
With your wellspring eyes, you
Stared with simple certainty,
As if to say, Hey, I know you.

In your eyes, I knew, I knew,
That you were home and we
would never again be alone.

Thanks for reading!

  1. Celeste, I can really sense your personal voice, here. You have an even angelic sweetness that invests your best work and this is my favorite that I have read so far. I really enjoy your use of repetition; anaphora.
